Local Removals

Are you all set for the D Day to come when you will have to shift all your belongings to a new relocation and get started with a new life ahead? Well, as you know that the process can be really hectic. The planning, all the bookings for the renowned removalists in Gold Coast and most importantly preparing a checklist is considered to be the most crucial element as per the recommendations by the experts.

However, no matter how much you plan for the final day, there will always be some loopholes in your planning that can alter the situation. It may not go the way you want it to be just because of some small mistakes made on your part.

Well, a reminder is all you need. You may already have a checklist hanging in front of your eyes while you are resolving things one by one. However, considering the feedbacks of the different people regarding the relocation process, it is quite clear that you need to work on the checklist of reminders even more vividly.

What are those things you need to keep reminding yourself during different stages of the relocation process?

Let’s check all of it at once.

1) Make a quick ‘things I forget’ list

Well, first things first. If you are an absent-minded person and usually keeps on forgetting things on your day to day work, then you should concentrate on making a list of the crucial things you easily forget in most of the times. Keep it alongside your checklist to make sure you have the exact reminder you wanted to have. Going through this particular list at the time when you are leaving the house will further help you to keep the track that whether you have made the same mistake this time or not.

2) Update the new address

The enthusiasm and of course the hassles of house relocation often compels you to forget some crucial things. Updating your address in all the important documents is one of those common mistakes that take place on your behalf. Make sure you get it done as soon as the new location is confirmed. Otherwise, you will miss out the important documents that were supposed to come to you via postal process.

3) Inform people that you are relocating

relocation-mistakes-avoid

You get so busy in the relocation process that you may need a reminder to understand that there are people who are required to be informed about your new location. According to the suggestions of professional removalists in Gold Coast, it’s not only about letting them know that they mean something for you but you might be missing out some extra help that you were supposed to get from your friends. Spend half an hour of your busy schedule to send an email for reaching all the important people at once.

4) Prepare a separate survival kit for the relocation

Keeping a survival kit handy is not something ‘not-so-crucial’, instead it is a necessity that you may need to fulfil. It will take a lot of time for you to resettle everything in the new house and with a survival kit with the clothes, medicines and enough food, you can take things easily and get the relocation process done.

5) Arrange the parking

relocation-mistakes-avoid

Parking is one of the most common issues that you ought to deal with when you are relocating. Well, not all people have a huge parking lot in front of their house to accommodate the moving truck. Therefore, it is crucial for you to keep in mind that you need to make the arrangements for the parking so that the removalists get easy access to your house.

6) Include the things that are allowed to be packed

Well, in this case, not taking the suggestions of professional removalists in Gold Coast is going to be a major fault on your part. Ask them about the things that you should avoid sorting out for packing. Inflammable objects, firearms, firecrackers are some of those countless objects that you can’t move to your new house in moving truck. Therefore, restrain yourself from packing that stuff and for reminder purpose, you can create a different checklist as well.

7) Notify your child’s school

It is never considered right for your kid’s educational background to abruptly change the school without even notifying the school authority about the valid reason behind the decision. As soon as, the date of relocation is set, consider informing the school authorities about it.

8) Check everything is in order in the new house

Here, with the word ‘everything’, we are suggesting three significant issues including electrical systems, plumbing issues along with the condition of the kitchen. Don’t expect from your new homeowners to arrange for everything even if you don’t connect with them beforehand. Talk to them and check whether everything is in order in the new house or not so that it does not hinder your daily life.

9) Wash all the dishes and kitchen essentials

Don’t forget to make the kitchen clean and wash off all the utensils you have used for the last breakfast. It is your responsibility to make sure all the used things of your previous homeowners is just the way you had found when you entered the house a few years back.

10) Follow-up the weather conditions

Well, the weather fluctuations around Australia may not be an entirely stressful issue for you but checking the weather condition appropriately is something you should not ignore. Even if the slightest chance of rain is on the weather cards, you should arrange for weatherproof packing materials.

11) Organise things for your pet

It’s not the end of your duty to keep your pet in the cage to keep it away while our movers are at work. Train your pet beforehand if it is not used to stay in the pet cage for long hours. Remind yourself about organising the playthings and adequate food for your pet cat or beloved pet dog to keep it safe and sound.

12) Contact the ‘child care service’ on the removal day

Well, you will be thoroughly busy on the relocation day when the movers are at work. If attending the child all the time may seem difficult for you, arranging for a child care service beforehand will be a great idea. Just, don’t forget to book the service in advance.

13) Take electronic gadgets along

Electronic gadgets like mobile, chargers and iPods are something you may keep on using until the last moments. Make sure you arrange a separate box or bag for taking these things along during relocation.

14) Keep track of the traffic updates

Check the traffic reports and find out the best possible route for reaching the destination fast. Our movers are there to suggest some directions also so that it takes the lowest possible time and your things remain in excellent condition.

15) Maintain a strict time limit

The furniture removalists in Gold Coast will be punctual. Don’t make them lose their time. Prepare everything on your part so that you can start at the time, you were supposed to leave your premises. Take a big sheet of paper and note down the time of movers’ probable arrival time on it.

16) Perform a final Check of the house

relocation-mistakes-avoid

Consider it as the ‘Most Important’ thing to be done. Check everything before you are finally handing over the keys of your home to the previous homeowner. In the final checking, you may find out some minute details that are yet to be done and get them resolved fast.

17) Remember to label all boxes

When rushing, people sometimes forget to label every box they pack. On the last day of the moving, it becomes a hectic one to figure out what all kinds of stuff are present in the packages. Therefore, it is essential to make sure that the labelling is done as soon as the boxes are filled. “FRAGILE”, “COMMODITIES”, “EDIBLE”, and “EMERGENCY” etc. are just some of the tags that can be used easily identify the packages. An unlabelled box creates confusion and makes the work of the removalists more difficult.

Remembering all of the mentioned things is crucial to make sure your removal turns out to be less hectic, organised and in order. For the rest, rely on the professionals of Richards Gold Coast Removal and feel the ease of relocation.

I was deeply impressed by Pat's thorough & kind communication style when I made some inquiries. I had never experienced such friendly & informative responses from any other removalist companies I contacted before. On the day, Pat's guys arrived right on time. Te & the team did an amazing job for me. They were all very courteous and brilliantly fast & smart. I have hired many removalists before and experienced them stretching out time, damaging my furniture, and stopping work & smoking cigarettes for ages when I wasn't on-site. Pat's guys Te & the team worked incredibly hard and got the job done very well in half the time other companies' guys would have. I can highly recommend Richards Removals. Richards would tremendously reduce the enormous stress & hassle of your relocating. Pat, Te & the team, thank you very much!!

I would highly recommend using Richards, they moved me from my home into a storage unit. The two young men completed the move without an issue and in very efficient time. Ash and Jake were very personable and polite. I am using Richards again to move from the storage unit to the new house and have requested these two young gentlemen do the move. I was asked by a neighbour could I recommend someone for their move in January so I of course said Richards.
