Moving antique items

Everyone knows how stressful it is to move the house. And, there is a lot of things to consider while preparing furnishing items for move, which can cause you more stress if you do it alone. So, if do you own a lot of antique furnishing pieces, it is advisable to take extra care when packing them up. Especially, these items are quite expensive that you have to dig your pocket to buy the second one. There are 4 materials that you should have to protect fragile yet antique items-

Packing Materials

1) Sturdy and good quality packing boxes

2) Packaging tape and dispenser

3) Padding materials like, bubble wrap, crunched newspaper and old towels

4) Cables to secure

So, before you start, consider whether your item is breakable or not. And if it is fragile, wrap them up in the bubble wrap and place it within the box. Pad them with bubble wrap or newspaper. It is the thing to keep in mind that it is not just the ceramic object or glass wear that can break but also the wooden or plastic items can also get damaged if not packed correctly. So, how to ensure better packing of items while moving them on long haul-

1) Reinforce the packing box

You can borrow them from third parties or people who have recently moved. Some removalists in Tweed Heads come up with packing materials that you can rest assured about the hassle-free packing. Soon after stuffing, reinforce the packing boxes with extra tape, so that it can hold the fragile items.

2) Add padding for added protection

Always pack fragile items with padded materials, such as bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, towels and old shirts are few items that can protect items.

3) Arrange special boxes

Some fragile items like mirror and painting need special flat boxes that you can order online, or the removalists can bring for you. For some furnishing items may need the corner protectors to get an extra layer of protection.

4) Label everything for easy identification

Label the items as FRAGILE

Don’t forget to level the items, as it will give your removals the clear idea of how to stack items one on another. Label the items as FRAGILE using quality labels, so that it won’t peel off during the move.

5) Talk to your removalists

As soon as the removalists reach your place, talk to them about how to take care of the breakables and which are the items that need their extra attention.

6) Hollow items

If the antique furniture, vases or ceramic items are empty inside, then it is highly commended to fill that with crunched newspapers and bubble wrap and place them in a box surrounded by bubble wrap or foam peanuts.

Lastly, you must be advised with a fact to keep the antiques aside one day before you move from all the sturdy items. Furniture removals in Tweed Heads come with necessary planning and moving preparation to make your move out hassle-free. They understand the importance of getting your valuables from one location to another by taking great care of the belongings, no matter how heavy the items are.

I was deeply impressed by Pat's thorough & kind communication style when I made some inquiries. I had never experienced such friendly & informative responses from any other removalist companies I contacted before. On the day, Pat's guys arrived right on time. Te & the team did an amazing job for me. They were all very courteous and brilliantly fast & smart. I have hired many removalists before and experienced them stretching out time, damaging my furniture, and stopping work & smoking cigarettes for ages when I wasn't on-site. Pat's guys Te & the team worked incredibly hard and got the job done very well in half the time other companies' guys would have. I can highly recommend Richards Removals. Richards would tremendously reduce the enormous stress & hassle of your relocating. Pat, Te & the team, thank you very much!!

I would highly recommend using Richards, they moved me from my home into a storage unit. The two young men completed the move without an issue and in very efficient time. Ash and Jake were very personable and polite. I am using Richards again to move from the storage unit to the new house and have requested these two young gentlemen do the move. I was asked by a neighbour could I recommend someone for their move in January so I of course said Richards.
